چکیده

Let A be an idempotent algebra on a 3-element domain D that omits a G-set for a factor. Suppose A is not αβ-projective (for some α, β ⊂ D so that α ∪ β = D and α ∩ β 6= ∅) and is not collapsible. It follows that A is switchable. We prove that, for every finite subset ∆ of Inv(A), Pol(∆) is collapsible. We also exhibit an algebra that is collapsible from a non-singleton source but is not collapsible from any singleton source.

The complexity of quantified constraints

Let A be an idempotent algebra on a finite domain. We combine results of Chen [11], Zhuk [24] and Carvalho et al. [7] to argue that if A satisfies the polynomially generated powers property (PGP), then QCSP(Inv(A)) is in NP. We then use the result of Zhuk to prove a converse, that if Inv(A) satisfies the exponentially generated powers property (EGP), then QCSP(Inv(A)) is co-NP-hard. Since Zhuk ...

Evaluation of the Droplet Collapsibility in Inhalation Drug Delivery through a 3D Computational Study

Background: Several multiphase flow analyses have been developed to predict the fate of particles used in inhalation drug delivery; however, the collapse of droplets during their passage through respiratory tract has not been investigated. Objective: To assess the probability of droplet collapse in the upper respiratory tract. Methods: A 3D model of mouth-to-second generation airway after the tr...

Investigating the Development of Kerman’s Soil Structure and its Effect on the Collapsibility index

Kerman and its surrounding towns consist of a flat alluvial plain of fine silt and clay materials. In morphological aspects, these sediments have a very gentle slope with the main infrastructure of the city build on them. Generally, the structure of undisturbed soils is developed over time due to the influence of environmental factors. Geological factors in Kerman fine-grained alluviums have ca...

Quantified Constraint Satisfaction and the Polynomially Generated Powers Property

The quantified constraint satisfaction probem (QCSP) is the problem of deciding, given a relational structure and a sentence consisting of a quantifier prefix followed by a conjunction of atomic formulas, whether or not the sentence is true in the structure. The general intractability of the QCSP has led to the study of restricted versions of this problem. In this article, we study restricted v...

Improvement of Collapsibility of Sodium Silicate Bonded Cores for Aluminium Casting

This paper examines the compressive strength of sodium silicate bonded cores for aluminum casting with different additives. Various materials are used as additives among which it is found that 5% sand size bauxite has the best effect on both gas strength and de-coring 98.5% silica content sand with 70-90 AFS No. with 4% sodium silicate is used. The results indicate that although very good colla...
